The
GeoSpatial Data Integration Portal has now been withdrawn. You can find
much of the data that was available in the GeoSpatial Data Integration Portal
along with additional and new information at one of our new geospatial
websites. These have improved online mapping performance and
capabilities.
These services include:
-
Our Environment
- a land atlas of
New Zealand. Learn about New Zealand's natural environments. Includes maps and data from the Land Resource
Inventory (NZLRI) and Land Cover Database (LCDB).
-
S-map Online– interactive
querying of S-map, the new national soils database. While it will be some
time until S-map reaches full national coverage, it does represent a marked
improvement in data quality on the Fundamental Soils Layers (FSLs) which it is
designed to supersede.
-
Soils Portal – includes an
updated web mapping feature displaying data from the Fundamental Soils Layers
(FSLs) and the National Soils Database (NSD). Soils data from the
Ross Sea Regions
Soils
Database is also available.
-
LRIS Portal
- a repository of
freely downloadable land and soils data and related information. This portal is
aimed at users with access to GIS or similar software.
-
National Vegetation
Survey Databank
(NVS) - a physical archive and electronic databank containing records of over
94,000 vegetation survey plots - including data from over 19,000 permanent
plots.
-
The
“Animal Distribution” maps for pest species have been withdrawn from our
site. The Department of Conservation
now manage the up-to-date version of these datasets which can be found at the
DoC protype Geoportal.
